Dajiang drone use new rules to release users need real-name registration

【Global Science and Technology Report】 According to the British "Daily Mail" reported on May 23, DJI required users to register and activate the drone on their website, otherwise the camera will be disabled and the radius of flight will be limited.

Drone users may not be required to register with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but users of Drone's drones must verify activation with the manufacturer. The company has announced that it will provide new applications for users to activate, users need to provide the necessary information. For non-compliant users, the drone camera will not be used and the flight radius will be limited to 98 feet (29.87 meters) to 164 feet (49.98 meters).

DJI announced in its announcement that users who own or purchase DJI UAVs must register for activation when updating the new version of the DJI GO or GO 4 application. If this procedure is not performed, the UAV will not be able to obtain the correct geospatial information and flight functions in the area. If the firmware is updated, its operation will be restricted. For drones with updated firmware and drones that plan to update DJI GO and GO 4 applications, this process is mandatory, with the exception of A3 and N3 applications.

In early May, the new rules of the US Court of Appeals proposed that any user with over 0.5 pounds (about 226.79 grams) of entertainment drones must be forced to register with the FAA, register their name and address, and place an identification number on the drone. Although this is to curb illegal operations near the airport and interfere with civil aviation, critics have said that this move is too extreme.

At present, U.S. law prohibits flying drones in areas more than 400 feet (about 121.92 meters) away from the airport or in the center of the capital. However, it is difficult for the authorities to implement these regulations in practice because drone users ignore the regulations. The FAA stated in its statement that the registration rules are designed to “ensure that drones operate in a safe manner without causing security risks and privacy threats”.
