According to Al Fannet, a group of student entrepreneurs from Pudu University recently launched a mirror that can display a variety of information. With certain settings, you can watch news, emails, social network messages, traffic conditions, and weather while watching the mirror.

MirrorMirror is a product that the student startup team spent 36 hours to complete when participating in the BoilerMake. It is currently only a prototype stage. The team added a face recognition function to the ordinary mirror to allow the person in front of the mirror to confirm what information to display. When you go to the mirror and the facial features are recognized by the mirror, the mirror will show all the information you have set.

In an interview with Gizmag, team member Nick Molo explained that MirrorMirror usually only displays basic information such as weather and news before identifying “host”. However, when it identifies a particular "master," it displays more personalized information. Nick Molo also said that MirrorMirror will open up the development platform, and anyone can develop apps based on this so that the mirror shows the information they want to know the most.

However, the team’s goal is not just to produce such smart mirrors. They plan to turn MirrorMirror into a hub for home automation systems. Nick Molo pointed out that we now have computers, mobile phones, tablets, televisions, and other screens. If we want to have a device that acts as a control center, we will have more screens. Rather than having more than one screen, it would be better to implant these functions in an existing mirror in the home.
