Superflex Powerwear: Wear me and let you have superhuman abilities

When we watch the "Batman" series of movies, we are always conquered by Batman's handsome figure and powerful power, but have you ever thought that one day you will have such super power? If so, your dreams will soon become reality.

Let you become a superman "combat suit"

Recently, the US scientific research institute SRI.International has developed a soft mechanical exoskeleton called Superflex. Instead of calling it an exoskeleton, it is better to call it a power suit. Its appearance is very cool and resembles that of a superhero Batman. What's more, it not only has its own appearance, but also has the function of transmitting power to people's limbs and body. Put it on, anyone can have superhuman power.

Superflex detects the speed and angle of the user's limbs and body through motion sensors, acceleration sensors, and gyroscopes, and adjusts the user's movement accordingly. When the user needs the help of Superflex, Superflex can precisely complete the prescribed action as long as the power is turned on.

Superflex is very versatile. If applied to the military, such as on the battlefield, Superflex can help soldiers easily lift heavy objects and reduce the chance of muscle strain.

In addition, Superflex can't make them superheroes for those who are inconvenienced by illness or injury, but it can help them regain new life and improve their quality of life.

For the elderly, Superflex allows them to return to normal life. It helps the elderly walk, take things, and even climb stairs.

At the same time, if this technology is applied to the factory, the risk of worker injury will be effectively reduced, thereby increasing production efficiency.

Superflex's soft material is suitable for most people's body types. Moreover, when the user needs help, Superflex's power will start, which greatly increases the battery life. At present, Superflex has also developed other derivatives such as the exoskeleton support FlexDrive, the exoskeletal converter FlexGrip, the energy storage e-Flex, and the controller FlexControl. Researchers are still perfecting Superflex and are also seeking partners, hoping to put them into the market for the benefit of more groups.

Born out of defense projects

Superflex was developed because DARPA (US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) launched a project called Warrior Web.

Warrior Web aims to develop a lightweight exoskeleton to help soldiers on the battlefield reduce stress and injuries. As we all know, the armor of soldiers is very heavy, and sometimes it can even reach 100 pounds. It will not only greatly increase the load of the soldiers, cause their energy consumption to be very fast, but also increase the chance of soldiers being injured, especially the ankles, knees, lumbar spine and other parts. In order to solve this problem, Warrior Web came into being. Its purpose is to develop a light "combat suit" for soldiers so that they can be invincible.

Warrior Web has developed a variety of techniques, some of which use a control system to focus on the key soft tissues in the skeletal system to protect vulnerable body parts; some to protect the skeletal muscle system from injury and to help injured skeletal muscles Recovery.

The Warrior Web project is divided into two parts: Warrior Web Alpha and Warrior Web Bravo. Warrior Web Alpha aims to develop Warrior Web's core technologies, including core damage reduction capabilities, complete analysis capabilities, regenerative drive capabilities, and adaptive sensing and control capabilities. The latter is intended to integrate the technology developed by the former and introduce other suitable technologies into the project.

Warrior Web ultimately developed products that need to be tested in a variety of environments in order to achieve the best features. Superflex is the co-crystallization of Warrior Web and SRI.International.

Behind a standing team

Seeing here, do you think Superflex is as cool as Xiao Bian? But as everyone knows, there is a more cool team behind Superflex.

Developed by SRI.International, Superflex is an independent, non-profit scientific research organization in the United States serving clients in government and industry.

Compared to other scientific institutions, SRI International has a relatively long history. It was born in 1946 and was founded by Stanford University. It was originally called "Stanford Research Institute". In 1970 it left Stanford University and became an independent institution. In 1977 it was renamed SRI International. It has now become one of the world’s most powerful independent research organizations.

SRI International official website says its purpose: to change the world and make humans safer, healthier and more efficient.

The lineup of SRI International's team is very strong. They are experts in various fields and have extensive experience in science, engineering, technological innovation, politics, and business. Today, SRI International has more than 2,100 members worldwide, including scientists, engineers, technicians, and policy researchers. Many of them are among the best in the industry.

Currently, SRI International has a wide range of research, including biomedicine, chemistry, computers, space, economics, education, energy, defense, and more. Now SRI International has moved from the laboratory to the business community to create truly innovative, high-value products. Once, SRI International developed an AI project that had a major impact on the development of Apple's Siri. Recently, SRI International and Yamaha worked together to create the world's first motorcycle robot. Superflex is also proud of SRI International.

Now, this research team, supported by feelings, will go further and further with its "combat suit."
