On March 19, 2008, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Progress Lighting Co., Ltd. jointly announced a voluntary recall of the China-made ProgressLighting outdoor ceiling lamps.

The recalled items are limited to ProgressLighting ceiling-mounted outdoor luminaires with product numbers P5526-20 and P5526-44. The outer layer of the luminaire is a sloping glass fixed lampshade with three flame-shaped 60 watt bulbs. The words "Madein/HechoEn/FabriqueAuxChina" and the product number are marked on the product packaging. The luminaire was sold at the nationwide electronic lighting equipment store from January to November 2007 at a unit price of $200/inch.

The number of items recalled this time is about 1,000 baht. The reason for the recall is that the welded joints connecting the fixture fixtures and the roof are prone to breakage, and the dropped lamps have the risk of injuring nearby personnel. At present, Progress Lighting has received six reports of lamp drop, and there have been no reports of property damage and personal injury.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately contact Progress Lighting to provide free repairs to recalled fixtures.
