0.18-micron BCD process platform enters mass production

Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics Co., Ltd., one of the world's leading pure-chip foundries, announced that its newly developed 0.18-micron BCD (Bipolar CMOS DMOS) process technology, which is the industry leader, has entered volume production. The new BCD180 technology platform is developed by Hua Hong NEC for emerging applications such as digital power supplies, motor drives, audio amplifiers, LED drivers, battery protection, and high-end power management. It features high integration, low power consumption, low on-resistance, and diverse processes. The advantages of options and programmable, greatly facilitate customer choice and provide customers with more value.

As the first domestic foundry to provide a 0.35-micron BCD and CDMOS mass production process platform, Hua Hong NEC has accumulated rich experience in the development and production of BCD process technology. Based on the mature 0.18-micron logic CMOS process that has been in production for more than five years, and combined with its own BCD technology, Hua Hong NEC has further developed a 0.18-micron BCD production platform with advanced international standards. The performance index has reached the international advanced level. It is the first in China and one of the few foundries in the world that can provide 0.18-micron BCD mass production process.

The process platform is equipped with industry-standard 1.8V/5V digital-to-analog hybrid CMOS technology, which helps reduce the designer's time for developing and verifying logic circuits, thereby reducing development cycles. The well-designed high-power LDMOS has the world's advanced level of low on-resistance and gate parasitic capacitance, and its maximum operating voltage can reach 40V. It is mainly used for analog and high-speed switching applications, improving the stability and reliability of products, and switching faster. The energy conversion efficiency is higher and the safe work area is wider.
