During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, China will build 100 new energy demonstration cities

On the 22nd, Liang Zhipeng, deputy director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Division of the National Energy Administration, said in Shanghai that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, China will build a microgrid demonstration area in regions where solar energy and wind power predominate, and will also promote the construction of 100 New energy demonstration city.

At the 5th International Solar Energy Industry and Photovoltaic Engineering Forum, Liang Zhipeng said on the same day that the “12th Five-Year Plan” period is a critical period for the development of China's photovoltaic industry. The state hopes to encourage enterprises to reduce the cost of photovoltaic power generation through technological advancement, thus increasing photovoltaic power generation. With the competitiveness, it is expected that the cost of photovoltaic power generation will be significantly reduced in the next 3-5 years.

The photovoltaic industry market was previously mainly concentrated in Europe, where Germany and France dominated. In recent years, the photovoltaic industry in Japan, China, and other Asian countries has also risen rapidly. According to authoritative statistics, in 2010, the total output of photovoltaic products in China was 8GW, which accounted for 50% of the world's total output, ranking first in the world.

However, although China has become a manufacturing powerhouse for the photovoltaic industry, the development of the domestic photovoltaic application market has not been significantly advanced. About 95% of PV modules are exported to foreign countries every year.

How to effectively start the domestic demand market for the photovoltaic industry is a question that is being considered by the National Energy Administration. Liang Zhipeng emphasized that in the initial stage, it needs to proceed steadily, not to pursue speed, but to focus on quality.

He explained that during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, the country will mainly promote the application of photovoltaic power generation from two aspects: First, it will continue to initiate a number of large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic power plants through tendering. “By using the tender approach, some companies may not be satisfied, but can promote the optimization of the industry chain through competition to find a low-cost portfolio, but there are also such realistic possibilities.” Liang Zhipeng said.

Liang Zhipeng said that the second is to continue to promote the application of photovoltaic power generation "Golden Sun demonstration project", "Twelve Five" period will continue to expand the "Golden Sun" project scale.

Applications that generate a large amount of heat often cannot be adequately cooled using just traditional fans. Conductive cooling through metal core PCBs are an ideal production option.
BentePCBs are most widely found in LED technologies, as they reduce the number of LEDs required to produce a specific illumination. Light emitting diodes release a great amount of heat in applications such as:

  • Back light unit applications
  • Street safety applications (streetlights, lighting, etc.)

  • Power converters:  telecom, industrial, high voltage regulator, power supplies
  • Hybrid/electric motor control applications
  • Photovoltaic

Using a metal core PCB in these LED products and applications help to greatly reduce the heat emitted.
