GT Solar's advanced sapphire crystal furnace wins $91 million in Asian customer orders

(Nasdaq), a provider of polysilicon production technology, sapphire and silicon crystal growth systems, and related materials for the global solar, LED and other specialty markets Sigma stock code: SOLR) announced today that it has received three new orders for advanced sapphire crystallurgical furnaces (ASF) totalling $91 million, two of which are from Taiwan and the other from mainland China. Taiwanese customers are Alpha Crystal Technology and Tera Xtal, while mainland China customers are Lingyang Group. Xinjing Diamond Technology Co., Ltd. and Lingyang Group are all new customers of GT Solar. Zhaojing Technology Co., Ltd. previously signed a sapphire material purchase agreement with GT Solar last week.
