According to foreign media reports, South Korea’s Samsung Electronics’ Samsung LED recently said that the company intends to defend its intellectual property rights. It has filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on July 15 to require ITC to ban OSRAM and Its subsidiaries, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors and Osram Sylvania LED products, entered the United States.
Samsung LED said that OSRAM infringed on its eight LED technology patents, which are widely used in lighting, automobiles, projectors, mobile screens and televisions. The company also filed a complaint with the Delaware District Court. Osram is required to pay compensation and the court is required to issue a permanent ban on the infringement of Osram.
Samsung LED pointed out that ITC usually takes about 15 to 18 months to complete the investigation and announce the final decision.
