Intel Car Solar: Powering 2,000 Households at a Time

Intel Corporation today disclosed to the outside world its second largest solar-powered vehicle plan. The plan shows that when the sun shines directly on the panel, it can provide power to about 2,000 households at a time. At the same time, the solar panel can also accommodate about 3,000 parking spaces.

According to reports, Intel has installed solar panels on the Ocotillo campus in Chandler, which is the state’s largest solar vehicle-mounted device. When the panel is exposed to direct sunlight, the solar panel has a capacity of about 7.7 megawatts.

7.7 MW means that it can supply about 2,000 households at a time. At the same time, the site can also accommodate about 3,000 parking spaces.

The project is said to be the largest of its kind, second only to the 18 MW of installed capacity at the Bagdad mine in Arizona (a PR service company's territory).

At the same time, the project can produce about 13 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is enough to meet the annual energy demand of 1,000 families. Intel had previously promised to double its green power installations in 2015 and the current results are only part of that year's promise.

Currently, the Santa Clara campuses in California and Europe are all 100% green. According to Marty Sedler, Intel's Director of Global Utilities and Infrastructure, the company also produces various energy plans at various campuses around the world.

According to the solution, Intel currently has a total of more than 60 green projects in the world and 14 different technology applications in 12 states and cities.
