Security experts warn that most of the world's Internet of Things companies are not aware of the risks of IoT devices, and they expose users' data to danger. "From a security perspective, the world is not ready to embrace the Internet of Things," said Rob Sadowski, director of market insight and technology solutions at RSA, EMC's security agency.

Sadowski said in a speech at EMC World Las Vegas this week that companies need to ask themselves several important questions about whether they are using the Internet of Things safely.

Sadowski believes that a large number of energy and chemical-related companies today have shown that they are not using the Internet of Things well.
“These companies that use automation in the industry do not have good control over network security. When you really ask members of these companies, they can't answer these most basic questions."
Jeff Carpenter, RSA's chief product marketing manager, agrees that the world is not ready for the Internet of Things. He said that the maturity of the IoT architecture is imminent.
“We have learned that there are thousands of manufacturers producing IoT devices, but very few of them are security-conscious and they don’t have enough protection for device security.â€

Sadnet said: "The Internet of Things has great potential for improving productivity and cost savings. But people responsible for security protection and risk management should ensure the security of these devices when a large number of IoT devices are put into use by the company."
