Recently, Qingyun County of Shandong Province built its Xihuan Road into the first single integrated high-power LED lighting demonstration road in China. In January-July 2010, the power consumption reached 110,000 kWh.
According to the relevant person in charge, in addition to street lights, LED lights are also promoted in other public facilities. Now, 17,000 LED energy-saving lamps have been promoted and applied in 10 communities, 2 enterprises and 1 school. The energy saving in urban areas alone can save more than 1 million kilowatt-hours per year.
The county plans to carry out batch transformation of all the street lamps in the county within two years. After the completion of the project, the annual electricity bill will save 2 million yuan.
