Maxim announces the industry's first in-vehicle remote tuner solution, with a single hardware platform supporting global broadcast standards. The solution uses the MAX2175 RF to Bit to RF tuner to reduce cabling and simplify car audio system design.

Maxim introduces a remote tuner solution that helps designers significantly simplify car audio system design and reduce cabling. Traditional car radios present many challenges for automotive design. Complex audio systems need to support multiple tuners, control heat dissipation, and receive signals from multiple cables from the antenna. In addition, baseband processing requires dedicated hardware and separate designs to support broadcast standards in different regions of the world.

Maxim's latest remote tuner solution, RF-to-bit stream tuner, can be installed in a quiet environment close to the antenna to minimize noise. Serialize the tuner's digital output to a low-cost Coaxial Cable using Maxim's Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) serializer/deserializer (SerDes) for remote tuner over the same cable powered by.
