Radeon HD 6900 Series First Sample Card Issued Within Two Weeks

According to sources from Northern Europe, although the Radeon HD 6900 series has been postponed for some time, AMD is also paying close attention to the progress. The first batch of test cards is expected to be issued within two weeks.

The reasons for the postponement of the 6900 series are different. AMD officials claim that the existing products are performing well and are not eager to push new ones. This obviously is not enough for the letter. The tight supply of power supply components from Texas Instruments has been confirmed in many aspects. The new components used in the 6800/6900 series cannot really meet the needs of AMD, but this is not the only reason.

Many people think that after the GeForce GTX 580 was released and recognized, AMD is finally perfecting and upgrading the 6900 series, especially the high-end model 6970, in order to regain performance advantages, but in fact it is not. Dylan Hengjin disclosed that the performance of Radeon HD 6970 is 30-50% higher than the current generation of products (which should be said Radeon HD 5870).
