Silego Introduces Industry's First p-Channel MOSFE Replacement Product Integrated Load Switch

Silego introduced a series of nano-power load switches as part of its power supply family on October 15, 2013. The new line includes two models: the SLG59M1470V, which supports up to 6A of load current, and the SLG59M1460V, designed for 2A load current applications. These devices are built using Silego’s proprietary submicron copper FET technology, enabling them to deliver high efficiency in a compact 1 x 1 mm package. The nano-power load switches offer ultra-fast switching speeds, as low as 9.5 μs, allowing systems to manage power separation efficiently when power is turned off. In active mode, the SLG59M1470V consumes only 35 nA, making it ideal for battery-powered devices that require long operational life. Its low Rds(ON) performance further enhances energy efficiency, extending battery life significantly. Jay Li, Marketing Director at Silego, highlighted that handset designers need load switches with three key features: fast startup, low on-resistance, and minimal power consumption. While existing P-channel MOSFET solutions offer low power consumption, they often suffer from higher on-resistance when the supply voltage drops below 2.5V. Silego’s new nano-power load switch is the first in the industry to integrate all three critical parameters, making it a preferred choice for next-generation mobile devices such as tablets, smartphones, and laptops. The SLG59M1470V comes in a 9-pin, 1.5 x 2.0 mm STDFN package and can handle power supplies as low as 1.0V, with an on-resistance of 7.4 mΩ. The SLG59M1460V, available in an 8-pin, 1.0 x 1.6 mm STDFN package, supports 1.0V power with an on-resistance of 21.3 mΩ. These devices are well-suited for systems that frequently transition between wake-up and sleep modes, such as mobile devices, wearables, and IoT applications. With their advanced performance and compact design, Silego’s nano-power load switches are setting new standards in power management for modern electronics.
