Vishay Highly Integrated Solution: microBUCK® Synchronous Buck Regulator

The microBUCK® Integrated Synchronous Buck Regulator Series utilizes Vishay's unique combination of discrete MOSFET design, IC expertise and packaging capabilities to provide customers with cost-effective, integrated high-performance solutions. The latest series of 4A SiC413 and 10A SiC417 provide a wide input voltage range of 4.75V to 26V (for SiC413) and 3V to 28V (for SiC417), with minimum output voltages as low as 0.6V and 0.5V, respectively.

The regulator reduces phase node ringing and reduces EMI by eliminating PCB traces, while the device's high-side and low-side MOSFETs provide low on-resistance to reduce power consumption and improve performance. The microBUCK® regulator provides high power density and improved heat dissipation at full load. With all ceramic solutions switching up to 1MHz SiC417, SiC417 has 93% high efficiency at high frequency operation.

The SiC417 is offered in a 5 x 5mm MLPQ 32-pin package, providing the compact form factor needed for ultracompact, battery-efficient portable computing. The constant on-time controller provides excellent transient response. The device's super power-saving mode will improve light-load efficiency.

In addition, the SiC417's internal programmable LDO can be used to provide 5V for self-bias or an external circuit for the bias system to provide a 5V bias voltage bus.
