With the rise of DLP projection TVs, there are fewer training opportunities for maintenance. However, as a TV viewing device, there are many similarities in basic principles compared to traditional TVs, though it's more complex. In this post, I’ll share some practical tips and precautions that I’ve learned while repairing these devices. I welcome any corrections or discussions from others who have more experience. 1. Maintain cleanliness during repairs. Avoid removing the front cover, lamp cover, rear iron cover, support truss, large refractor, main screen, optical lead unit, circuit board, and rear case unless necessary. Always keep the internal components clean during the process. 2. Be careful and thorough. Whether you're dealing with a simple task or re-soldering, always double-check your steps. Reading the repair manual carefully can save time and prevent mistakes. 3. The circuits often use highly integrated chips, which are expensive and hard to find. Most boards are multi-layered with SMD components, making them delicate and prone to short circuits if not handled properly. 4. Avoid replacing gas parts or sockets arbitrarily, as this can cause errors or damage the system. 5. If the power supply is damaged, replace it with an original model or a compatible one. 6. Never change switches when the device is powered on. 7. Avoid touching internal components or the body with your hands during the process. 8. When cleaning optical parts, use compressed air to remove dust. Never use corrosive liquids or solvents. 9. Do not attempt to remove the light engine yourself. Avoid scratching the surface with sharp objects. If I missed anything or made a mistake, please feel free to point it out.
