TDK Introduces New MEMS Pressure Sensors for Automotive and IoT Applications

The TDK Group has launched a new line of ultra-compact EPCOS MEMS pressure sensors, setting a new benchmark in miniaturization and performance. The C33 series is the smallest automotive-grade sensor in its class, measuring just 1 mm x 1 mm x 0.4 mm. It is AEC-Q101 certified, ensuring reliability for demanding automotive applications. With an absolute pressure range of 1.2 bar to 10 bar, it operates at a typical voltage of 3V, and when powered with 5V, its sensitivity ranges from 15 mV/bar to 80 mV/bar depending on the model. The sensor can function in extreme temperatures, from -40°C to +135°C, and withstands up to 140°C for short durations. Its long-term stability is exceptional, with an accuracy of ±0.35% FS. For IoT and consumer electronics, the C39 series offers even greater compactness, with a size of 0.65 mm x 0.65 mm x 0.24 mm—just 0.24 mm in height. This makes it ideal for space-constrained devices like smartphones and wearables. The C39 also features excellent long-term stability of ±0.35% FS and measures absolute pressure up to 1.2 bar. Both the C33 and C39 series operate based on the piezoelectric principle, using a Wheatstone bridge to output an analog signal proportional to both the pressure and supply voltage. These sensors are designed to meet the growing demand for smaller, more reliable components in modern electronics. Whether in automotive systems or smart consumer devices, TDK's latest MEMS pressure sensors offer precision, durability, and flexibility. As a global leader in electronic components, TDK continues to innovate, delivering cutting-edge solutions across industries such as automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics. TDK Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has been a pioneer in the development of electronic materials and components since 1935. The company specializes in ferrites, capacitors, inductors, high-frequency components, and a wide range of passive and active devices. With brands like EPCOS, InvenSense, and Tronics, TDK serves a broad market, including information and communication technology, automotive, and consumer electronics.
