DisplayLink, a startup for semiconductor devices, said recently that at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next month, it will show a USB 3.0 device with its own chip that can transmit video at a speed of up to 4.8Gb per second. The chip is expected to be available in the second half of next year and is expected to be used in consumer products before Christmas next year.
DisplayLink executive vice president of marketing and business development Dennis Crespo (Dennis Crespo) said that the company will hold a product demonstration at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas next month.

Crespo said that this video transmission device will be 10 times faster than the current USB 2.0 standard maximum throughput, and much faster than all current PC video peripherals, including the still popular VGA and DVI video adapters, and the use of Use the latest DisplayLink and HDMI format devices.

DisplayLink is currently selling USB 2.0 version of the chip, the chip is being used in laptop docking stations (laptop docking staTIon), portable video adapters and monitors.

Crespo said that DisplayLink's USB 2.0 chip supports the Windows 7 operating system, can display games at a rate of 60 frames per second, and can play high-definition video at a rate of 26 or 27 frames per second. The USB 3.0 chip is much faster than this, allowing laptops or netbook monitors to play HD videos and 3D games smoothly.

He said that devices using USB 3.0 chips will be unveiled at CES next year, and some products will be available for sale in the 2010 Christmas season.

DisplayLink customers include Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, and more than 30 other hardware manufacturers. Crespo said that only Apple among the mainstream manufacturers is not its customer, which shows that the market has accepted DisplayLink technology.

At the same time, Crespo admits that the sales performance of LCD display manufacturers is disappointing, mainly due to economic recession pressure leading leading display manufacturers to cut costs.

Analysts believe that the USB 3.0 standard will quickly attract the attention of LCD manufacturers. In 2013, the number of LCD computer monitors supporting USB will reach 70 million.

For XLPE insulated power cable, either chemical method or physical method is employed to transform the molecular structure of PE from chain into three-dimensional network, i.e. thermoplastic PE is transformed into thermo setting XLPE. It can also be laid with no limitation of level difference along the route.

2. Applications

The product is suitable for use in power transmission and distribution lines with rated power frequency voltage 3.6KV/6KV~26/35KV.

3. Operating characteristics

Rated power-frequency voltage U0/U: 3.6/6KV~26/35KV.

Max. Permissible continuous operating temperature or conductor:90℃.

Max. short-circuit temperature of conductor shall not exceed 250℃. (5s maximum duration)

The ambient temperature under installation should not below 0℃.

The bending radius of a single-core cable should not less than 20 times of the cable diameter.

The bending radius of a three-core cable should not less than 15 times of the cable diameter.

4. Voltage designation

The rated voltage of the cable for a given application shall be suitable for the operating conditions in the system in which the cable is used, and is expressed in the form of U0/U (Um) KV. Where:

U0-The rated power-frequency voltage between conductor and earth or metallic screen, for which the cable designed;

U-The rated power-frequency voltage between conductors, for which the cable designed;

Um-The maximum value of the [highest system voltage" for which the equipment may be used.


5. The values of U0 recommended for cables to be used in three-phase systems are listed below.

System category A-This category comprises those systems in which any phase conductor that comes in contact with earth or an earth conductor, is disconnected from the system within 1 min.

System category B-This category comprises those system which under fault conditions, are operated for a short time with one phase earthed. This period should not exceed 1h. For a longer period, not exceeding 8h on any occasion, can be tolerated. The total duration of earth faults in any year should not exceed 125h.

System category C-This category comprises all systems which do not fall into categories A and B.
