Apple becomes defendant again: iPad 3 and MacBook Pro suspected of infringing LED patents

According to foreign media reports, LED Tech DevELopment LLC has sued Apple for infringing their patents. There are four patents involved, and there are two Apple devices involved, namely iPad 3 and MacBook Pro. Charles Lemaire, one of the original inventors of the four patents, said that the companies that own the four patents involved are Lockheed MarTIn and Nuance CommunicaTIons.

LEDTech has officially filed a lawsuit in the Delaware court, saying that Apple ’s products use pulse-width modulated signals to drive light-emitting diodes. They believe that Apple has intentionally infringed patents on the condition that these patents are known. The patents involved are patent 6,095,661, patent 7,393,119, patent 6,808,287 and patent 6,488,390.

In the litigation file, the company detailed the four patents involved, but it is still not certain whether this is enough for them to win the lawsuit with Apple. The original assignees of these four patents include PPT, Vision Inc., inventor Charles Lemaire, Lockheed MarTIn and Nuance CommunicaTIons.
